We've Been Doing This Since1999.

We Didn't Learn This From ATextbook.

We Help Law Firm Owners Run The Business.

This work began with a struggling lawyer who knew how to practice law, but had never been taught how to manage a law firm.

Why we exist

We Know How Hard It Is When Nobody Ever Taught You How.

How To Manage A Small Law Firm wasn't created by someone who looked at lawyers from the outside and spotted a consulting opportunity.

It grew out of our founder RJon Robins' own experience struggling to run his law firm. RJon knew how to practice law. What he didn't know was how to run the business of a law firm.

And that distinction changed everything.

He was working too many hours, making too little money, stressed about the business, and embarrassed that he couldn't seem to figure out how to make his law firm work.

The breakthrough

He Asked For Help. Then He Took The Advice.

RJon would bring a problem to the Florida Bar's Law Office Management Assistance Service. They asked questions, diagnosed the real problem, and told him what they thought he should do.

And then he did something remarkably sophisticated: he actually did it.

He implemented the advice. Things got better. So he brought them the next problem. Within a few months, he had turned around the law firm that had been financially sucking him dry.

Diagnose First. Solve The Right Problems.

What we built

Law Firm Owners Shouldn't Have To Figure It Out Alone.

Struggling law firm owners weren't bad lawyers. Most had simply never been taught how to run a business. So RJon built the resource he wished he had.

You, The Owner

When one part isn't working, it affects the others. When all seven begin working together, you can build a business that doesn't depend on you doing everything.

Built With Real Law Firm Owners.

How To Manage helps law firm owners across the nation in all different areas of law, using the same systems to grow their practices. I used those systems to grow my firm to $1.6 million, then started a second law firm and grew it to about $400,000 in its first three years using the same processes. My biggest success in joining How to Manage was defining what success meant to me. It means leaving early to coach my son’s soccer team, being at my daughter’s gymnastics, and still running a successful business that brings my employees and other immigrants to their fullest potential.

How we work today

Today, We Do More Than Teach You How.

Your CMO

Creates the marketing strategy and prospective-client flow your growth plan requires.

Your Controller

Makes sure everyone is working from financial information they can trust.

Our brand promise to you

What You CanCount On.

If you trust us with your time, money, business, and future, you deserve more than vague assurances. These are the commitments we put in writing.

I.

You will always get at least a 5x ROI on every dollar you invest with us; this may take the form of dollars in your bank account or in other ways that matter to you, for example peace of mind, clarity, risk mitigation, etc.

II.

You will have clarity on your goals: Financial, Personal, and Professional including why these goals really, truly matter enough to you such that you will move into action instead of settling for excuses.

III.

You will have a written plan for how each of The 7 Main Parts of Your Business™ can work together to help you achieve your goals. Your plan will make sense. It will be practical. It will trackable & measurable and will not be based on luck or magic.

IV.

You will be held accountable for taking action against your plan. You will have access to real-world proven resources (no theories) including training, tools, templates, answers, and explanations, to help you take action against your plan.

V.

You can count on us to know (and care about) what is going on in your business and how that affects your life; one of the ways we do this is by being sure your file including your business plan, budget and KPI's are complete & up to date.

VI.

You will be told the truth, even if you hate us for it.

T.A.Y.E. A.S.T.U.Y.A.

Not words for a wall. Standards for how we hire, manage, decide, and serve.

Our philosophy

Bigger Isn't The Goal.Successful Is.

A five-million-dollar law firm that consumes its owner isn't necessarily more successful than a highly profitable one-million-dollar firm that gives its owner the life they want.

We believe a successful law firm should make a healthy profit, serve its clients well, create opportunities for its people, and do work its owner is proud to put their name on.

  • More money matters.
  • So does more control over your time.
  • So does the freedom to go home, take a vacation, spend time with your family, and pursue what matters to you.

Your Law Firm Should Work For You.Not The Other Way Around.
