Samuel Bazylenko

Prior to Bookkeeping that Doesn’t Suck, Samuel worked as a Tax Accountant and Auditor for several small and medium-sized accounting firms located in Miami, Florida. Samuel understands the dynamics of large and small teams and the impacts that large projects have on various individuals and departments throughout an organization. Upon completing his J.D. at St. Thomas University College of Law, he aspires to open his own practice, concentrating in the field of tax. Samuel’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University’s School of Accounting with a second major in International Business.In his spare time, Samuel enjoys playing soccer, airsofting, and skydiving.

Alex Martinez

Alex has held a variety of positions including Help Desk Manager, System Administrator, IT Manager, and Director of IT. Previously, he was with Network Management Solutions as a co-founder, where he was responsible for planning, working, maintaining, supporting, organizing, and developing IT for hundreds of different clients across Florida. Alex is most proud of a project in which he worked and led his team to improve network security across different companies by implementing multi-factor authentication, intrusion detection, and regular vulnerability assessments. This resulted in zero security breaches in the past four years and still going strong. Alex has been exposed to technology and working with it since the young age of 3. His father owns and actively runs an MSP servicing hundreds of clients in South Florida since 1991, in which Alex took an active role in working, growing, and leading for over 15 years. During this time, Alex honed his skills and gained massive amounts of experience dealing and working with the C-Suites of different companies, developing IT strategies that aligned with each company’s goals, managing and developing partnerships with vendors, driving innovation to ensure that technology was being utilized efficiently, and making sure that budgets across the boards were in line with business objectives, as well as providing a solid return on investment. In his spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with his family, playing video games with his four kids, watching anime, playing double 9 dominoes, drinking Cafecito Cubano, reading books, and traveling the world. Currently, Alex is focused on growing every day to be the best version of himself. He is also focused and driven on creating a legacy for his family now, and for future generations, where they can have peace of mind and financial wealth.

Debora Goldenberg

Debora Goldenberg has held a variety of positions including Operations Manager and Sales Consultant and was previously with Your Garage Organizer Inc. where she was responsible for managing every aspect of a Home Improvement Business. Debora is most proud of the fifteen years dedicated to learning and growing a Small Business. In 2015 she obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration, in May of 2022 she become a Certified Interior Planner and in March of 2023 she obtained her Real Estate Agent License.In her spare time, Debora enjoys outdoor walks, cooking, and volunteering at children’s ministries.

Nichole Hanscom

With more than 30 years of professional experience in the legal field, Nichole has worn just about every hat there is to wear – Assistant, Attorney, Community Liaison, Operations Director, Administrative Counsel, and Owner. She has held high-level positions in organizations of more than 300 people and with multi-million dollar budgets. In addition to running large operations, she has launched non-profit and for-profit businesses from the ground up. Nichole has spent the last two decades focused on helping businesses (especially law firms) run more productively and deliver better results. Prior to joining the HTM team as an Advisor, Nichole was a member! She owned an operations consulting business and was affiliated with a boutique law firm that helped creative entrepreneurs. Before opening her own businesses, Nichole was the Operations Director and Administrative Counsel for the Public Defender’s Office in Tampa, Florida, and consulted for other Public Defenders across Florida from the Panhandle to the Keys. In these roles, Nichole was responsible for designing solutions, leading teams, and building systems that handled legal representation on both the large and small scales. She was also sought after to lead strategic planning, growth management, conflict resolution, and leadership development programs in legal and non-legal organizations across Florida. A life-long advocate for equal access and opportunity, Nichole joined to How to Manage so that she could help lawyers help more people.

Jose Luis Perdomo

Jose Luis has held a series of jobs in his career ranging from Internal Auditor to CFO, and Sr. Director of Finance.  He spent the bulk of his earlier career at Merck.  There he had a variety of roles responsible for Regional International Audit Teams, Country, Regional, and corporate finance functions.  He is most proud of leading the development and implementation of the first international finance shared services unit at Merck, servicing six legal entities serving 13 countries.In his spare time Jose Luis enjoys MLB attendance, the theatre, and all kinds of music.

Jessica Douglas

Jessica Douglas has held a variety of positions including a CEO, COO, SLFU Lead Practice Advisor and trainer in How to Manage University (HTMU), as well as, a Strategic Planning Workshop and SLFU Crash Course Facilitator. She was previously with Fidelity National Financial as Managing In-House Counsel and as Oversight and Compliance Attorney Manager for Nationstar Mortgage where she was responsible for litigation processes, closing file rates and quality control for the fee attorneys these financial institutions hired to conduct their litigation. She has a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a J.D from the University of Georgia School of Law. She is also a certified mediator and currently serves on her local Bar’s ethics commission. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her amazing kiddo and husband playing tennis and wake surfing. She loves watching the Georgia Bulldawgs play football and win national championships!
