Todd Rogers

Todd Rogers has held a variety of positions including Fractional COO, Business Manager, Global Marketing Manager, Sr Account Executive, and CFO and was previously with How to Manage a Small Law Firm as Programs Operations Manager where they were responsible for creating management and accountability tools for managing the HTM management advisory team. Todd is most proud of helping small businesses that help their communities. Todd is a certified business coach with an MBA and has been advising small businesses since 2013. In their spare time, Todd enjoys spending time with wife and family over great food, especially at Disney World. His other hobbies include creating art with Lego.

Emily Britton

Emily Britton has held a variety of positions including Owning and Operating a 5-state financial services firm and an Arizona marketing company. Emily was most recently with The Leona Group as their Arizona Director of Quality Initiatives where she was responsible for implementing effective systems, driving improvement, developing people, building teams, and designing innovative programs across 29 sites.  Emily is most proud of how she has leveraged her scrappy, supportive style and experience to build effective operational systems across the financial services, legal, education, and marketing industries. Emily uses her Agile and Six Sigma Black Belt trainings and certifications, which sound incredibly cool but are exceptionally nerdy, to guide and engage key firm team members in building and sustaining systems that help law firm owners make their business WORK FOR THEM. In her spare time, she enjoys the Arizona outdoors by gardening, hiking, exploring architecture, and being a low-key foodie on Arizona’s restaurant patios. To recharge, she can be found reading, listening to PPM, traveling, meditating, and contributing to a variety of non-profit boards and committees that benefit children and families.  She also loves supporting her daughter’s club volleyball endeavors.

Eric Herbert

Eric has held a variety of positions including, general manager, group leader, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and was previously with Buffalo Technology Group/Panurgy as President and CEO where he was responsible for the goals and culture of a very fast-growing organization. Eric is most proud of building and then rebuilding a team which took a small, regional technology services company yielding under $1mm of revenue, and turning it into several companies generating over $20 million of revenue in under 10 years, while also growing an early-stage investment arm which has helped fund several not- for-profits and technology organizations. In his spare time, Eric enjoys sailing, skiing, tennis, high performance driving, reading, travel, horrible TV, investing and cooking for and with his wife Alia, and occasionally their way too many children.

Jason Plumer

Jason has held a variety of positions including Business Operations Manager/Officer, Legal Administrator, Corporate Trainer, HR Generalist, Marketing Generalist, and Tax Preparer. A professional in the legal field for 16 years, Jason was previously with McNamee Lochner P.C. where he was responsible for directing execution of human resources, accounting/financial reporting, IT, marketing, and other operational activities for a firm with over 20 practice areas, 17 shareholders (225 total attorneys), and 35 legal and administrative staff. Jason is most proud of being named a Business Strategy Prize Winner, and for his design and execution of a financial plan which resulted in the payout of $1.8M in post-profit incentive-based bonuses for shareholders. Jason earned an MBA in Human Resource Information Systems from the University at Albany, and also completed one year of his PhD there as well, acquiring skills related to organizational design, logic/methodology and high-level quantitative and qualitative analysis. In his spare time, Jason enjoys physical fitness, grilling outdoors, sporting events, camping and kayaking, coaching or playing baseball, basketball and tennis, and relaxing around water. His two boys, Easton and Landon are his world. An interesting fun fact, prior to his legal career, Jason notched some acting roles in academic and professional print and television commercials, was a model for his own men’s health-related articles with a local magazine, and had a 1 year run being featured online for a company which specializes in manufacturing high-end, unique quality fashion products made out of recycled cashmere clothing.

Thomas Wright

Thomas Wright held a variety of positions including Managing Partner and CEO, senior tax director, and tax consulting manager, and was previously employed with JTH Tax, Inc. (a publicly traded company) as a Merger and Acquisition Director, where he was responsible for leading the acquisition team, identifying the target acquisitions, leading the due diligence team, and negotiating the terms and conditions of the deal. Thomas is most proud of developing tax strategies that reduced the US effective tax rate in excess of 3% yielding an effective tax rate of under 19% while working as a tax director at Johnson & Johnson. Thomas holds a Master’s degree in taxation and a Bachelor’s degree in accountancy with a minor in finance. He has worked as a CPA in public accountancy for over 25 years and as a law firm management advisor for 4 years. He has been published over 25 times in relation to business strategies in for-profit organizations. He is also a duly licensed provider in New York for CPE (CLE equivalent) instruction. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys healthy living and exercise, family activities, coaching baseball (his son is a junior all-star accepting offers from D1 colleges), enjoying movies in his home theater, and developing his music talents. Most importantly, he enjoys time shared with his wife, three sons (Jeff, Travis, and Clive), and Margo…his German Mastiff. Thomas enjoys giving back to the community by fundraising for the American Heart Association and speaking engagements with LVAD and transplant candidates, recipients, and their respective families.

Arnel Ortega

Arnel has held a variety of positions including Attorney, Mediator, and Human Resources Director, and was previously with his own law firm as the Managing Attorney where he was responsible for General Counsel to clients in business matters, including commercial and civil litigation, contracts, federal and state labor and employment laws, and risk management. Arnel is most proud of helping business owners identify and seize the opportunities available to them by holding them accountable to execute on the actions necessary to achieve success. Arnel has been with How to Manage a Small Law Firm for more than 5 years and has held numerous positions, including Senior Fractional CEO, CEO Lead, and Fractional COO, as well as a Crash Course leader, Business Plan Workshop presenter, Bootcamp teacher, and Advanced Business Plan Workshop facilitator. In his spare time, Arnel enjoys Martial Arts, Motorcycles, Traveling, and being his son’s Fencing weapons armorer and coach.
