1. WHAT’S THE A+, #1, MOST IMPORTANT PART OF HOW YOUR LAW FIRM PERFORMS THAT WOULD HAVE THE GREATEST POSITIVE IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE IF WE COULD FIX OR MAKE A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT TO THAT PART OF HOW YOUR LAW FIRM PERFORMS?

Answer: Delegation and staffing. Getting clients is not the problem. My pipeline is pretty robust. Extricating myself from mundane, day-to-day bullshit so I can focus more on networking, marketing, and high-level decisions. My practice is a small niche, B2B mostly not consumer, and complex, unique work, so it’s not as easily scalable as others. I sense that COVID is a great opportunity because of PPP and EIDL. I’m about to have as much as $170,000 drop in my lap. It needs to be invested wisely.

  1. What’s your “good enough reason” to take all your excuses and shove them up your ass so that when you tell me what’s wrong and I tell you how to fix it you’ll actually take action…even if doing so might be a little (or even a lot) uncomfortable?

Answer: My daughter is in 6th grade. She attends and is excelling at Xxxxxxxx, which most would agree is the top academic K-12 school in Atlanta; for you south Florida folks, think Ransom Everglades as an analogy. She deserves the opportunity to develop her gifts at a great college or university. I don’t want to have a “we can’t afford this” conversation with her. My son is in 2nd grade. He is very bright but is dyslexic. I need to ensure he has the resources to best succeed. They are my motivation.

I need to get off dead center.  I have a new website and an SEO team, but nothing is happening.  I MUST crack the marketing code.  I’m not afraid of work, I just need to leverage my time much better.  I have a college-age daughter who needs me to make money.   I want to retire before I’m 75 (64 now).  I have all the motivation ins world, I just need help and know-how.

Hi Stephanie,

If there’s still room in the virtual workshop, here are my 2 responses:

  1. The aspect of my firm that would have the biggest improvement on how my firm performs if we could improve it is probably our capacity. I’d like to figure out how we can handle more cases.
  2. My “good enough reason” to take RJon’s advice is that I’m sick of being broke or, as of recently, middle-class. I worked too hard to be middle-class forever. I’m 40 and decided to make obscene quantities of money over the next 10 years so that I can semi-retire at 50 and be extremely comfortable for the rest of my life.

Thank you!

I want to figure out how to reduce the legal work and run my Law Firm without so much stress and effort on my part.  My reason is for my family of girls that I love and would do anything for and to make sure they have the best I can possibly give them!
