A background in operational efficiency & talent development
After earning a joint MBA/JD in San Diego, CA., he began his career as in-house endowment counsel and Associate Regional Director with the National BSA Foundation; advising ultra-high net worth families in charitable planning and estate preservation by integrating testator vision with executor execution.
After six years in tax consulting, Jake went to work in San Jose, CA. as the Chief Operating Officer for the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Area Council where he led the team through a multimillion dollar acquisition with unanimous board approval. In the process, earning the Journey to Excellence Award and ranking #2 out of 292 similar organizations.
After 11 years in corporate, Jake chose “different”. Taking his kids out of school for the adventure of a lifetime, the family spent a year living in 12 countries from Bagan, Myanmar to Paris, France, overcoming robbery, redeye flights and Haggis while learning to love the rich cultures of the world.
All of which he expected.
What he didn’t expect was the journey of Leadership this decision would create. From the high-rises of London to the nipa huts of Malaysia, the need for strong leadership is everywhere.
